Kappa Lambda Educational Foundation Scholarship Program

Since 2004, the Kappa Lambda Educational Foundation has provided a special, semi-annual scholarship that recognizes an Active member living in the Chapter House. Awards are based on an evaluation of the individual's contribution to the house as well as the university, academic performance, financial need and a written essay that illustrates the meaning of membership in the Epsilon-Iota Zeta of Lambda Chi Alpha. The scholarship is applied to the recipient's house bill.

In time, scholarships will also be given to incoming male freshmen of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation as part of the Kappa Lambda Educational Foundation's effort to fortify the University's scholarship program and strengthen the Epsilon-Iota Zeta's relationship with the University.

The Paul Yenter Memorial Scholarship Fund

Scholarships are awarded each spring (Founders' Day Celebration) and fall (Homecoming Reception), thanks to a generous $5,000 initial contribution from the estate of Paul Yenter (EI 852), who passed away in 2005 at age 48. Additional contributions to this fund were made in 2007 by his mother, Dorothy Yenter, who donated $500, and by Thomas Collins (EI 756) and his wife Susan Collins, each donating $250.

This program can continue only if Epsilon-Iota Alumni are willing to match Paul's generosity. Click here to make a donation, and specify that your contribution be applied to the Kappa Lambda Educational Foundation.
